Promo / Biography

Don't miss this rare opportunity to hear sound design explained by one of the top producers in the midwest!

Live and electronic beat maker Thomas Faulds displays his inexhaustible abilities in a variety of genres. Primarily working in the dreamy electro-jazz duo Silences, Faulds lays his clicking arrangements under the looped saxophone of longtime collaborator Charles Gorczynski.  Silences records for the ears&eyes label/collective, and their most recent full length was released with the famed Ropeadope Records ( Philadelphia ).  Thomas also releases music under his solo moniker Mercury Effect, creating relentless and uncompromising IDM sounds.

Faulds is actively collaborating with the best and brightest of Chicago 's improvising musicians, bringing new inspiration and sounds to an already wildly creative scene.  In addition to his work with the laptop, he plays drum kit for the experimental jazz group DDT trio, the futuristic hip-hop outfit Spinach Prince, and anything interesting he finds in front of him.

Orville Kline aka "Orvtronixxx" is more than just another DJ. He has played different instruments in metal, electro, hip hop, jazz, and punk bands, is an audio engineer at Studio Chicago, and teaches music production techniques for the Music Industry Workshop. He lives, eats and breathes music 24/7. Orvtronixxx uses Ableton Live both on stage and in the studio for a variety of applications.
