THE2NDHAND MIXTAPE: Stories About Songs (Event Over)

Sometimes a mixtape is the best form of communication: It helps you make new friends, gets people to go out with you and can be a cheap yet sincere present for loved ones. Chicago/Birmingham-based lit mag THE2NDHAND recognizes the importance of this social behavior. That's why they've asked writers from Chicago and elsewhere to contribute pop song–length stories about or inspired (directly or abstractly) by a tune of their choice. Everyone who attends will get a free mix CD (who owns a cassette player these days?) containing the featured tracks, and avant-garde cover band B1g T1me perform afterwards.
