New Orlean's City Park Benefit (Event Over)

Chicago's portal to New Orleans cuisine is hosting a cocktail reception with lagniappe -- aka "a small gift" -- consisting of Heaven on Seven's Cajun- and Creole-inspired dishes, to benefit the rebuilding of the New Orleans City Park. The reception begins immediately following a presentation at the Chicago Cultural Center (78 E. Washington Ave.) discussing the geography of the devastated city pre- and post-Katrina and the progress made thus far. Funds from these two events goes to The Trust for Public Land.

The presentation goes from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and the reception goes from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
