A cop named The Vadge, parts played by blow-up dolls and shadow-puppet talk shows -- these are a few of the highlights at this yearly fest featuring performers from around the U.S. and Canada.
The Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival is considered to be the largest
sketch comedy festival, showcasing 100 comedy troupes with more
than 800 performers performing 125 shows over the course of two
weeks. In addition to the shows, panels and discussions, they've
also added
two new events: Octa-Sketch, in which four teams have eight hours to write a
sketch comedy show on Monday, Jan. 7 and perform them at 8 p.m.
that night, and the fast-paced Sketchubator, which takes place
Saturday nights at midnight. After every show, network with comedy
professionals from all over the country while snagging free beer
and food.
Performances start at 8 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, 6 p.m. on Saturdays and at 4 p.m. on Sundays.
