Hello My Name is Chicago is collaborative effort within Chicago’s artistic community designed to showcase artists with concentrations in the world of music and visual art. All the artists lives and work are influenced by the culturally rich aesthetic that exists within all facets of Chicago life. Over the course of 2008, Hello My Name is Chicago will serve as a national platform showcasing Chicago’s various contributions to the world of music and visual art. On February 22, 2008, the Country Club Chicago will host HMNIC: The Art Edition, a collection of work from renowned Chicago artists. The subject matter of art serves to connect the audience with the pulse of the city further expressing the subtle yet deep influence Chicago has on those that call it home. The line-up for the first HMNIC: The Art Edition includes a diverse collection of work including from a wide range of artists including: Chris Silva, Won Yup Kim, and Travis Lampe. The HMNIC: Art Edition will serve as the launch for the HMNIC movement which will have a continued presence at all major national events and music conferences. HMNIC is currently in discussions with national sponsors looking to benefit from the influence that Chicago has on current pop culture.
