Kendell Carter Art Opening @ Monique Meloche (Event Over)

Kendall Carter looks to hip-hop culture to explore the ideas of consumerism, race and utility in his work. He makes a lamp shade out of a Kangol hat, upholsters a chair with a puffy jacket and tags coat racks with graffiti to re-contextualize and remix these images of wealth and status. Check out his latest sculptures and installation at this exhibition, which runs through April 19.
