The Burkhart Undergrounbd is an All Ages Coffeehouse. It takes place every Sunday in the 3-floor studio of artist Fred Burkhart. Doors open 7pm, entertainment begins at 9pm. A $5 donation includes coffee, tea, soda, snacks, wireless internet. Be prepared for all of it: chess players, folk music, jazz, cabaret, goths, rap, theater, comedy, poets, punks, college kids, old hippies -- all in an eclectic and acceptable mix, under the direction of one of Chicago's oldest and hippest photographer and story-teller.

1228 Noble Street is four blocks east of the Division/Ashland/Milwaukee blue line. You enter the Studio -- located in the rear of the building, coach house, by climbing up and then down a set of stairs on the right side of the building. A true Oasis to be located by those ready for a cool drink of art.
