Hello Friends!
First off, we'd like to send our sincerest thanks to everyone who made it out for insanity that was the March
edition of JACKSON. T'was great seeing people out in support of all the artists on the first weekend of nice
weather in the city! We'd like to apologize to everyone who had to wait in line outside Lava as we had not
expected to reach capacity so early on in the evening. Lava is a very intimate venue, and we definitely do
want to ensure that all our friends and regulars get the first opportunity for guaranteed entry, as well as
reduced admission. Beginning with the April 08 edition of JACKSON, we'll be offering up options for those of
you interested in guaranteed express entry when the summertime lines start rearing up their ugly heads, as
well as offering up a reduced admission/RSVP list that will be good all night.
Now, more on April's JACKSON: we're very excited to have as our headlining guests two pillars of the
FOUNDSOUND records imprint, MISKATE + SOMEONE ELSE. Since its inception in Philadelphia in 2004,
FOUNDSOUND and the UNFOUNDSOUND sublabel have stood out amongst the veritable hodgepodge of
minimal techno labels that have sprouted out over the past couple years. A proponent of quirky, dancefloor
friendly tracks constructed mainly from fragmented samples, organic minimalism, and random field recordings,
we are proud to feature two of the minds and featured talents behind the highly touted imprints for JACKSON #3.

BERLIN, PHILADELPHIA
No stranger to minimal house and techno enthusiasts, Kate Iwanowicz - better known as MISKATE - has an
eccentric, inventive take on the minimal sound, incorporating different elements of environmental sound
samples into a sweet, undeniable groove that's been heralded worldwide. A dj and co-organizer of both the
Pitchspork monthly (hosting luminaries Magda, Matthew Dear, Sammy Dee, etc) and the Foundsound record
label, her production debut in 2004 ("Rip it Cookie Muenster" - foundsound01) led to releases on Foundsound,
Karloff, Microcosm, and Einmaleins. Now living in Europe, Kate has played clubs + festivals worldwide. She's
played all over North America as well (MOVEMENT-Detroit, MUTEK-Montreal), and her penchant for a rocking
live performance will definitely be right at home here in Chicago.

SOMEONE ELSE live

Sean O'Neal is SOMEONE ELSE, co-founder of the Foundsound + Unfoundsound, Tuning Spork, and Fuzzy Box
record labels. He's got a pretty lengthy history at this point with relation to his involvement in electronic music
(You can read the full bio HERE) but he's played for us before, killing it when we brought him to town
for his Chicago debut to play alongside Green Velvet at the YFL one year anniversary back in February of 2006.
Since then, he's relocated to Europe, released more records, and not unlike Miskate, has been on a performance
tear of his own, rocking clubs and festivals throughout Europe. He also kindly took time out of his schedule in
2007 to wow the festival crowds at MOVEMENT(Detroit) and MUTEK(Montreal).
So yea... we're pretty giddy at having him in this time around as well.
