Editors' Take
A Russian duo exhibits their hilarious, satirical take on reality. It's a welcome reminder that painting has its place in modern art, and that not everyone is obsessed with New Museum junk sculpture. Hooray!
Okay, we admit, that's a bit of a mouthful. But let's break it down here: Dubs & V'Grad (as we like to call them, since we're homeboys) are Russian artists who paint in a twisted Soviet realist style. Their art graces an excellent odd-format box set for the Talking Heads, aka the Greatest Band That's Ever Lived. In other words, they're brilliant, and you should come to Deitch and bask in their brilliance while muttering intelligent things.
